Product Evaluator

Product evaluators work alongside product development engineers to develop consumer appliances that meet customers’ needs. They are responsible for carrying out a range of scientific and usability tests, and feeding the results back to the engineers.

Product evaluators may also write the product user guide and help out their company’s customer service team by providing answers for tricky or technical questions.

Product evaluators generally earn:

  • $45-55,000 starting salary

Key tertiary qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science, Applied Science or Technology in Chemistry, Food or Textile Science

Recommended school subjects:

  • Maths, especially Statistics & Modelling
  • Chemistry

  • Economics
  • Physics
